玩儿，很多时候可以代替play，但要注意这个词组后面不能直接加宾语

（1）I often hang out in bars at weekends.

（2）I often hang out with my friends at the park.

kind of=sort of

有点，等于somewhat

My boss is sort of hard to get along with.

like作为连词在口语中极度常用，可以表示“比如说”、“像是”、“差不多是”

I bought lots  of stuff,like carrots and beef.

The program  is like,……boring.

in a row

=one after another,连续地出现或发生，国外非常常见而国内却不常用

He passed four exams in a row last week.(请注意in a row 通常都是放在它所修饰的复数名词后面)

a  trade-off

有得就有失，这个词在英美几乎是只要谈到任何为了得到某种结果就同时必须做出某种牺牲的决定时都必然要用到，记住它要花费一些脑细胞，但是记住之后很有用，这本身就已经是一种trade-off

（1）        There is a trade-off between the  benefits of the medicine and the risk of side effects.

（2）        He had to make a trade-off between  her job and her family.

entire

=whole/complete(谁都知道whole和complete常用，但有多少国内同学爱用entire这个地道英文里的高频词呢？而且它的副词entirely也是在考试时替换completely的选择。牢记在口语里entire后面跟名词，entirely后面跟形容词

（1）        He ate the entire cake and made no  apology for that

（2）        Our situation is entirely  different from theirs.

（3）        Jessica is not entirely sure if  she can get a nice job after graduation.

=…too

Beijing is  exciting for its nightlife. And it is culturally attractive as well.

…is a piece  of cake=…is a snap=…is a breeze

小菜一碟，后面这两个国内孩子普遍不熟悉，但在英美生活中却常能听到

The IELTS speaking system test is just a breeze if you  know all the tricks about it.

表示“在……的时候”，during在英美日常生活里几乎已经常被用到了过分的程度，但可惜多数国内孩子却对它直接无视

We go hiking  and camping during holidays.

我完全支持某事物（I strongly support…,注意这个句型在英美口语中很常用，但是写作里不要用）
