表达难点

1.第1句中的定语“一个反映收人分配程度的”较长，故将其处理成后置定语，用现在分词短语reflecting income distribution来表达程度”为汉语的范畴词，英译时可省略不译。

2. 第2句中的“表明居民贫富差距比较大”是对前面分句的说明，可处理为which引导的非限制性定语从句， 表达为 which showed a great wealth gap between residents0 如果逐宇对译为 which showed that wealth gap between residents is quite big,则表达繁冗,且句子头重脚轻。

3.翻译第3句“虽然贫富差距是……，它还是引起了……”时，可以套用句型although...still...。“虽然贫富差距是......的问题”可逐字对译为 although the problem of... is the one that every developing country has to face。

4. 最后一句中的“为此”的意思是“为了解玲这个问题”，因此译为in orderto cure the problem更达意，而不能简单译为therefore。“包括提高低收入人群的收人水平和完善社会保障制度等”补充说明“措施”用现在分词短语 including raising...and improving...来表达。

The Gini coefficient is an index reflecting income distribution. The Gini coefficient in China was at 0.474 last year, which showed a great wealth gap between residents. Although the problem of wealth gap is the one that every developing country has to face, it still raises people’s concerns about China's development and social stability. Now, the Chinese government places a priority on reducing wealth gap. In order to cure the problem, the Chinese government has adopted a series of measures, including raising the income level of low-income people and improving the social security systems.
